Galapagos Day-Trip Diving
The Daily Dive is a way to experience Galapagos scuba diving on single-day trips, without needing to stay on a multi-day liveaboard boat.
How it Works:
You stay in a hotel on a main island (like Santa Cruz). Each morning, a dive boat takes you to nearby sites for typically two dives, returning the same afternoon.
The Experience:
- For Most Travelers: It’s a flexible and accessible option, great for combining diving with land-based tours.
- Marine Life: You can see hammerhead sharks, sea lions, sea turtles, rays, and marine iguanas.
- Dive Sites: Offers a range of sites, from calmer ones for beginners to challenging, current-heavy sites like Gordon Rocks for advanced divers.
Key Limitation:
Daily trips cannot reach the remote, world-famous sites of Wolf and Darwin Islands (known for whale sharks and huge shark schools), which are only for liveaboards.
In a nutshell:
The Daily Dive is a fantastic and convenient introduction to Galapagos diving, but serious divers seeking the ultimate pelagic action will need a liveaboard trip.
